BUBBLER EXPLANATION

What is a bubbler and why has it been misunderstood for so long?

It is essential to understand that the term bubbler is NOT the entire level control system traditionally used in industrial plants and municipal water applications to manage level. The bubbler is a level sensing technique or device. Air flows through a vertically submerged pipe to push out the liquid. As the tank level changes the back pressure in the tube also changes. A bubbler can be used in the same way you would choose an ultrasonic, laser, direct contact pressure sensor, probe and even load cells. In many applications the bubbler is the best choice. Unfortunately, before solid state sensors and controllers were available the mechanical switches, flow controls and regulators were vulnerable to in-plant hazards. The problem was NOT the bubbler technique for sensing level but the old fashioned mechanical devices that surrounded and supported the bubbler.

DistaView has eliminated all the mechanical components and provides a simple, streamlined level sensing system. No electrical or moving parts contact the liquid, making it ideal for fluids that have contaminants, foam, extreme temperature, corrosive properties, turbulent liquid action, explosive materials, high viscosity and slurry mixtures. It converts the changing tank level and back pressure into a standard, solid state, 4-20mA process signal. The process signal is sent to the controller relays and circuit board. It is simple, reliable and free of all the outdated components and mechanical burden that has plagued users in the past. The solid state accuracy and reliability available with our control line provides peace of mind and dry floors!
